9-10th Grade

When to Start?

9th and 10th Grade

Many families struggle with when to embark on the college planning journey. While this is surely a personal decision, getting an earlier start on the process can help reduce the stress of both the family as well as the student.

By getting to know the learning style and personalities of our students early in their high school careers, we will be able to provide assistance with course selections, extracurricular involvement and even help with possible future career ideas.

Some services we provide to our 9th and 10th grade students include:

  • Self-discovery activities
  • Provide Learning Style Inventories to determine the best way to work with each individual student
  • Develop a “working” academic resume and/or biography
  • Analyze current and future curriculum to find an appropriately challenging course of study and to ensure college readiness
  • Identify extracurricular interest and how to cultivate them effectively
  • Interest assessments to identify potential majors and career paths
  • Provide recommendations for ACT/SAT prep
  • Assist students with academic time management techniques
  • Explore summer academic programs, internships and/or jobs
